I've read this story a few times and I still have absolutely no idea what it means.  I'm not sure if gaydar is a real device, or just something that always gives me a little kick in the ass everytime I visit Greenwich Village.  No pun intended.  Anyway - this dude could be, or could not be holding a little gaydar in his right hand.
